Satanarchist are a band from Portland, Oregon that plays a mixture of black metal, thrash, crust and anarcho punk and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "First Against The Wall" which will be released in June.
Dark soundscpaes start off the album before going into a very fast blackened thrash metal direction that also uses a great amount of blast beats while t he vocals a re aggressive growls and screams and you can also hear a decent amount of melody in the riffing along with influences from 80's to the modern era.
A great amount of punk and crust elements can be heard in the bands musical style while t he solos and leads are done in a very melodic style and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of the fast riffs also use a decent amount of tremolo picking and a couple of tracks also adds in a brief use of clean and acoustic guitars.
Satanarchist plays a musical style that takes black metal, thrash, crust, and anarcho punk and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Satanism, Atheism, and Anarchism themes.
In my opinion Satanarchist are a very great sounding mixture of black metal, thrash, crust and anarcho punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Paradox" "Be At Peace" "Lent Is Theft" and "Silver Ships Of Andilar". 8 out of 10.
