Luciferian Insectus are a solo project from the Netherlands that has been featured before in this zine and plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Zal van Beherit" which was re-issued in 2017 by Apollyon Entertainment.
A very ritualistic spoken word intro starts off the album before going into a very fast and heavy musical direction along with a great amount of blast beats while the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody as well as the vocals being a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some melodic vocals also being used briefly and when guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very dark yet melodic fashion as well as the fast riffs also bringing in a decent amount of tremolo picking. and one of the tracks is very long and epic in length which also introduces clean playing onto the recording.
On this recording Luciferian Insectus brought in his early mixture of black and death metal, the production sounds very powerful while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism and Left Hand Path themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Luciferian Insectus and if you are a fan of blackened death metal, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Teeth Ov Devil's Smile Fulfilled" "Ritualistic Demonica" and "Into The Eternal Blacness". 8 out of 10.
