Ketzer are a band from Germany that plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Cloud Collider" which was released by metal Blade Records.
A classical guitar intro starts off the album along with some synths before going into more of a heavier musical direction. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark and melodic style and when the musics speeds up a great amount of blast beats can also be heard.
Vocals are mostly grim black metal screams while the riffs also bring in a great amount of thrash metal elements. Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them.
Clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording while some of the faster riffing also utilizes a decent amount of tremolo picking along with the music also taking blackened thrash metal into a more modern direction, as the album progresses rain and thunder sounds can also be heard briefly as well as a brief instrumental being added onto the recording. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover real world themes.
In my opinion Ketzer are a very great sounding modern blackened thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Keine Angst" "The Wind Brings Them Horses" and "Light Dies last". 8 out of 10.
