Italy's Ecnephias have returned with a new recording which shows the music going into a dark mixture of black, doom, gothic and heavy metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Seven-The Pact Of Debauchery" which will be released on March 20th by My Kingdom Music.
Atmospheric sounding synths start off the album while clean playing can also be heard in some parts of the recording. All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the riffs also adding in a great amount of melody and the music also incorporates a great amount of gothic metal elements.
Vocals also bring in a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams while spoken word parts can also be heard at times. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style along with the music also adding in a great amount of dark and traditional metal elements.
All of the album sticks to either a slow or mid tempo direction, a couple of tracks also add in a small amount of tribal beats and as the recording progresses a brief use of spoken word parts can also be heard and the closing track also adds in a touch of industrial. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism, Paganism, Medieval Witchcraft, Poetry and Darkness themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Ecnephias and if you are a f an of black, dark, doom, gothic and heavy metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Night Of The Witch" "Vampirir" "The CLown" and "Rosa Mistica". 8 out of 10.
