Los Angeles, California's Our Place Of Worship Is Silence have returned with a new recording which continues the blackened death metal style of previous releases and this is a review of their 2021 album "Disavowed, And Left Hopeless" which was released by Translation Loss Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while spoken word parts can also be heard briefly. When the music speeds up a decent amount of brutal sounding blast beats are also utilized along with the vocals also adding in a good mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams.
Tremolo picking is also added into some of the faster riffing while the music also adds in a small amount of atmospheric elements at times. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some of the tracks also being very long and epic in length, when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark style and all of the music sticks to a heavier direction.
On this recording Our Place of Worship Is Silence remain true to the blackened death emtal style that they have established on previous releases. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the metaphysical conflicts of man, the esoteric, and the search for meaning in an already plagued world.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Our Place of Worship Is Silence and if you are a fan of blackened death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Covenant Of The Fallen" "Diavowed, And Left Hopeless" and "The Scourge". 8 out of 10.
