Ignis Absconditus are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of post black, dark, gothic metal, avant garde, darkwave, post punk and neo-folk and this is a review of their 2024 album "Golden Horses Of A Dying Future" which will be released in February by My Kingdom Music.
A very gothic rock and darkwave orientated sound starts off the album while clear female and male vocals are also a very huge part of the recording. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them along with the riffs also adding in a lot of melody and the songs also add in a lot of clean sections.
At times the music also gets very avant garde sounding while the heavier sections of the songs also bring in elements of black and dark metal. Evil sounding whispers can also be heard briefly along with a lot of the album also adding in touches of post rock and neo-folk and the whole recording sticks to either a slow or mid tempo direction.
Ignis Absconditus plays a musical style that takes post black, dark, gothic metal, avanr garde, darkwave, post punk and neo -folk and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness and melancholy themes.
In my opinion Ignis Absconditus are a very great sounding mixture of post black, dark, gothic metal, avanr garde, darkwave, post punk and neo -folk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Shadows" "Lucid Madness" "Weight Of Knowledge" and "Chasm of Defeat". 8 out of 10.
