Moral Void/Deprive/Translation Loss Records/2017 CD Review

  Moral  Void  are  a  band  from  Chicago,  Illinois  that  plays  a  blackened  mixture  of  crust  and  hardcore  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "Deprove"  which  will  be  released  in  August by  Translation  Loss  Records.

  A  very  heavy  crust  influenced  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  d  beats  while  black  metal screams  are  added  onto  the  recording  a  few  seconds  later  and  a  great  amount  of  grindcore  elements  can b e  heard  in  the  bands  musical  style  as  well  as  some  shouting  style  growls.

  Influences  of  punk  and  hardcore  can  be  heard  in  the  bands  musical  style  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  using  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  a  great  portion  of  the  tracks  are  very  short  in  length  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  when  guitar  leads  are  utilized  briefly  they  are  done in  a very  distorted  yet  melodic  fashion  and  one  of  the  later  tracks  is  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Moral  Void  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  black  metal,  crust  and  hardcore  punk  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  angry  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Moral  Void  are  a  very  great  sounding  blackened  mixture  of  crust  and  hardcore  punk  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Callous"  "Prey"  "Deceit"  and  "Martyr".  8  out  of  10.
