Eternal Drak are a band from Quebec, Canada that plays a blackened mixture of thrash and heavy metal and this is a review of their self released 2021 album "Drak Metal".
Heavy yet melodic riffing starts off the album along with some high pitched black metal screams a few seconds later while the music also mixes in elements of 80's metal. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with the solos and leads also remaining true to an old school style and also adds in a good amount of melody.
The heavier side of the riffing also shows some influences of thrash metal while one song also adds in a brief use of war samples. Keyboards and acoustic guitars can also be heard on a couple of tracks along with one track also introducing spoken word parts onto the album as well as some songs also adding in a small amount of clear vocals.
Clean playing can also be heard briefly and when the music finally speeds up a small amount of blast beats are also utilized along with some Spanish guitars also being added into the music briefly as the album progresses, the recording also closes with a cover of Venom's "In League With Satan". The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and Spanish and cover Feelings and Life Issues.
In my opinion Eternal Drak are a very great sounding blackened mixture of thrash and heavy metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dark Metal" "Your Debt" "My Bloody Moon" and "In League With Satan". 8 out of 10.
