Thirteen Bled Promises are a band from Spain that plays a very brutal, technical and dissonant form of blackened death metal and this is a review of their 2021 ep "Foundation" which was released by Lacerated Enemy Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the ep before going into a faster musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the vocals are a mixture of death emtal growls and black metal screams.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style while the music also has its technical and dissonant moments. Throughout the recording you can also h ear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the mid tempo sections of the songs also adding in elements of deathcore as well as the music also mixing in a decent amount of progressive structures and the whole recording also sticks to a heavier direction.
Thirteen Bled Promises plays a musical style that takes dissonant black metal and mixes it in with the more brutal, technical and progressive sides of death metal as well as mixing in elements of deathcore to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while t he lyrics cover Gore, Science Fiction and Conspiracy Theory themes.
In my opinion Thirteen Bled Promises are a very great sounding brutal, technical and dissonant mixture of blackened death metal and deathcoire and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hell Froze" and "A Humanless War". 8 out of 10.
