Floating Nowhere are a band with members from both Greece and the United States that plays a mixture of dark gothic rock and black metal and this is a review of their self released and self titled 2013 album.
The album starts off with some clean guitars and melodic vocals and after awhile t he music starts adding in heavier guitars and synths along with some melody and by the time the second song comes on the album starts going into a heavier direction as well bringing in female vocals.
As the album progresses clean and heavy parts start mixing together and black metal vocals are finally added into the music and they start mixing with the more melodic vocals and it brings some originality to the music and one of the main strengths this recording has is its ability they mixed in some mainstream sounding rock with some heaviness and black metal influences and who knows maybe one day the mainstream will start accepting this genre like they have had with newer metal style over the years and after awhile the mix in in faster black metal elements on one song.
Song lyrics cover darkness and melancholy themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful and heavy sound for being a self released recording.
In my opinion Floating Nowhere are a very great sounding dark gothic/rock metal band with elements of black metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Monster" "Sin" "Shapeless, Faceless" and "The God You've Waited For". RECOMMENDED BUY.
