Serbia's Infest have returned with a new recording that continues their blackened mixture of death and thrash metal from previous releases and this is a review of their 2017 album "Addicted To Flesh" which will be released in September by Defying Danger Records.
A very war orientated sounding intro starts off the album and also brings in the atmosphere of an epic movie before going into a very heavy thrash metal influenced direction where you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording while the vocals are mostly death metal vocals.
Back up shouts can also be heard at times while the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody and the solos and leads stick to a very old school style of extreme metal but also having their melodic moments and the music also mixes in elements of blackened death metal and one track also brings in a brief use of clean singing and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and one track also brings in a small amount of spoken word parts.
Infest creates another recording that remains true to their blackened mixture of death and thrash metal from previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death, war, and anti religion themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Infest and if you are a fan of blackened death metal and thrash, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hail The Mother War" "Nailed To Your Spine" and "The Awakening Failed". 8 out of 10.
