Luciferian Insectus are a solo project from the Netherlands that plays a ritualistic form of blackened death metal and this is a review of his 2016 album "Godless" which was released by The Apollyon Entertainment Group.
Horror movie samples start off the album before going into more of a heavier and brutal musical direction along with some death metal growls a few seconds later while atmospheric synths can also be heard in the background at times and after awhile black metal screams start to make their presence known.
A decent amount of melody can be heard in the guitar riffing while tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard during the faster sections of the songs along with the solos and leads being done in a very melodic fashion and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Grim sounding spoken word parts can also be heard briefly and one track also introduces clean vocals onto the recording, some of the riffing adds in thrash influences and a couple of the songs are long and epic in length as well as adding in a small amount of clean guitars and pianos on later tracks while one of the songs is an instrumental.
Luciferian Insectus plays a style of blackened death metal that is very brutal while also having its ritualistic moments, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, Occultism, Anti Christian and Anti Muslim themes.
In my opinion Luciferian Insectus are a very great sounding ritualistic blackened death metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "666" "The Crowned Deceiver" "The Awakening" and "The Fall Ov Allah". 8 out of 10.
