Hell Strike are a band from the pacific northwest region of the United States that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2021 ep "Hellstrike" which was released by Chaos Records.
A very fast and heavy sound starts off the ep along with a decent amount of brutal blast beats while the vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls. A lot of the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's Swedish style and tremolo picking can also be heard in some of the faster riffing.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments on the recording also h ave a very powerful sound to them. The riffs also add in a decent amount of dark sounding melodies along with the guitar solos and leads also remaining true to an old school style when they are utilized as well as some clean playing also being added on the closing track which is also an instrumental.
hell Strike plays a musical style that goes back to the 90's era of black and death metal showing influences of the Scandinavian, North and South American style of the genres during that time frame. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover Darkness and Horror themes.
In my opinion Hell Strike are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cadaveric Requiem" and "Re-Abortion". 8 out of 10.
