Plakkaggio are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of black, heavy metal, hardcore punk and oi and this is a review of their 2022 album "Verso La Vetta" which will be released in March as a joint effort between Time To Kill Records and Hellnation Music.
Nature sounds and classical guitars start off the album before going into a heavier direction while the music also brings in a great amount of hardcore punk elements. Vocals are done in more of a melodic traditional metal style and the solos and leads are more rooted in an 80's melodic classical metal sound.
The riffs also add in a great amount of melody while the more aggressive vocals also add in elements of first wave black metal. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a small amount of blast beats as well as a couple of tracks also introducing synths and clean playing onto the recording and most of the album also sticks to a mid tempo direction.
Plakkaggio plays a musical style that takes black, heavy metal hardcore punk and oi and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Italian and is a concept album based upon mountains and alpinism.
In my opinion Plakkaggio are a very great sounding mixture of black, heavy metal, hardcore punk and oi and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Verso La vetta" "Lutto" "Declino" and "Oltre La vetta". 8 out of 10.
