This is a review of another recording from Misanthropæ which continues the blackened grindcore style of his previous release and the album was self released in 2022 and untitled.
Dark soundscapes start off the album before going into a very fast and brutal grindcore direction which also utilizes a great amount of blast beats. Vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls while dissonant structures and melodies can can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the songs are also longer than the previous ep. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with some tremolo picking also being added into some of the faster riffing , a couple of the tracks also adds in a small amount of clean playing.
On this recording Misanthropæ takes his blackened grindcore style into more of a dissonant direction. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover oppressive themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Misanthropæ and if you are a fan of blackened grindcore, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "REASON I" REASON IV" and "REASON VII". 8 out of 10.
