Blight House are a band from Rhode Island that plays a mixture of black metal, death metal, deathcore and grind and this is a review of their self released and self titled 2014 ep.
Spoken word samples start off the ep before going into a more blackened death metal direction along with a mixture of growls and screams and after awhile blast beats and melody are added into the music along with a mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads the band uses are very distorted sounding.
After awhile the band starts adding more deathcore and grindcore elements into their musical sound along with a great amount of brutal slam death metal traces being added into the music and there is a great amount of raw aggression being displayed in all of the tracks that are present on the ep.
Blight House combine a variety of many extreme metal genres together on these tracks to create a sound that is very raw, brutal and original all at the same time, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover violence and gore themes.
In my opinion Blight House are a very great sounding mixture of black metal, death metal, deathcore and grind and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Stump Stench" and "Let Them Burn". 8 out of 10.
