Cries Of Blood are a band from Columbia that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "My Philosophy".
A very fast and brutal sound starts off the ep along with some blast beats, growls and melodies before slowing down a bit and adding in high pitched black metal screams as well as bringing in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and after awhile clean playing can be heard in certain sections of the recording.
All of the musical instruments on the ep have a very powerful sound to them and they also add a good amount of old school death metal influences into their blackened sound and they also have a very dark and melodic sound in their guitar solos and leads when they are utilized and on one of their later tracks they bring in a small amount of operatic female vocals while the main focus remains on the death and black metal vocals and the last track sees the band bringing in a brief use of spoken word parts.
Cries Of Blood bring in a great amount of brutality and aggression with their blasphemous approach to blackened death metal, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Satanism and Anti Christian themes.
In my opinion Cries Of blood are a very great sounding brutal blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "My Philosophy" and "Bloody Hammer Messiah". 8 out of 10.
