Sathamel are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 live demo "(Sheol)".
An intro with acoustic guitars starts off the ep bringing a very dark feeling to the recording and after the intro the music goes into a more dark and heavy death metal direction along with some blackened death metal growls and you can also hear some melodies being utilized in their guitar riffing.
The bass guitars on the demo sound very powerful and after awhile high pitched black metal screams can be heard in certain sections of the recording and the solos and leads the band use are very melodic sounding and they also bring a classic heavy metal feeling into the bands musical sound while they also have their black metal moments and the band sticks mostly to a slow or mid paced direction and they close the demo with a very dark and ritualistic soundign outro.
Sathamal create a very dark and occult sound with their approach to blackened death metal, the production has a very dark and heavy sound with all of the songs being recorded live while the lyrics cover occultism and darkness themes.
In my opinion Sathamel are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Venus, Morning Star" and "Eternal Hunters". 8 out of 10.
