Malichor are a band from Australia that plays a mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Nightmares And Abominations" which was released by Iron, Blood And Death Corporation.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album while the vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams while the faster sections of the music also bring in a great amount of blast beats along with the riffs also bringing in a good amount of melody and thrash elements.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads stick to an old school extreme metal style and the music also has a great amount of 80's and 90's influences but still sounds very modern at the same time as well as some of the fast riffing also bringing in a decent amount of tremolo picking and the music always remains very heavy.
Malichor plays a musical style that takes black and thrash metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are based upon the writings of H.P Lovecraft.
In my opinion Malichor are a very great sounding mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "God Of A Thousand Forms" "Insidious Umbrae" and "Descent into Madness". 8 out of 10.
