Conquerors are a band from France that plays a brutal form of blackened thrash metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Dawn Of War" which was re-issued in 2021 by Music-Records.
A very heavy thrash metal influenced sound starts off the album while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of brutal blast beats and tremolo picking. Vocals are mostly black metal screams along with some melodies also being added into the guitar riffing and they also make an 80's style sound more more modern.
The songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length. A small amount of melody can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing along with the tracks also avoiding the use of guitar solos or leads until the closing track and all of the music also always sticks to a very heavy and brutal direction.
Conquerors plays a style of blackened thrash metal that is more brutal than other bands in the same genre. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Darkness, War and Blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Conquerors are a very great sounding brutal blackened thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dawn Of War" "Imperator" "Swords Of Infamy" and "Summoning Of The Doomsday Messiah". 8 out of 10.
