Lord Mortvm are a solo project from norway that plays a blackened form of doom metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "Diabolical Omen Of Hell" which will b e released in June as a joint effort between Helter Skelter Productions and Reagian Records.
Horror movie samples start off the album before going into a heavier doom metal direction while most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with some dark sounding melodies also being added into some of the riffing and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark style which also adds in a touch of 70's proto metal. At times the vocals also add in more of a first wave style along with a couple of tracks also adding in some of Anton Lavey's Rituals along with all of the music also sticking to a slower direction, synths can also be heard briefly.
Lord Mortvm plays a musical style that takes black and doom metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, Witchcraft and Blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Lord Mortvm are a very great sounding blackened doom metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Altar Obscene" and "Merciful Lord". 8 out of 10.
