Kosmodemonic are a band from New York that plays a mixture of black and doom metal with some krautrock and psychedelia elements and this is a review of their 2021 album "Liminal Light" which was released by Transylvanian Recordings.
A very slow, dark and heavy doom metal sound starts off the album while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are presented on the recording. Vocals are mostly done in a first wave black metal style as well as capturing the grimness of the second wave era and also adding in a semi melodic tone at times.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the solos and leads are also done in a very retro and old school style. A couple of the tracks are also long and epic in length along with some songs also bringing in a small amount of krautrock and psychedelic elements as well as the music also adding in some blast beats when the recording finally starts speeding up a little bit on a couple of songs, as the album progresses a brief use of clean playing can also be heard and some songs also add in touches of prog and thrash metal.
Kosmodemonic plays a musical style that mixes black and doom metal with some touches of krautrock and psychedelia to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the horrors of a society that cannot keep up with technological evolution.
In my opinion Kosmodemonic are a very great sounding mixture of black and doom metal with some elements of krautrock and psychedelia and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Drown In Drone" "With Majesty" "Broken Crown" and "Unnaming Unlearning". 8 out of 10.
