Krisiun are a band from Brazil that has a history that goes back to the early 90's and plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Mortem Solis" which will be released on July 29th by Century Media Records.
A very heavy and brutal sound starts off the album while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can b e heard while the vocals are mostly death metal growls and the solos and leads are also done in a very chaotic yet melodic style.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Elements of black metal can also be heard in the faster sections of the songs along with the music also showing its roots in the 90's but mixing it in with a more modern day brutality as well as one track also being a brief instrumental which also adds in some middle eastern style folk instruments before returning back to a more brutal direction, clean playing can also be heard briefly.
On this recording Krisiun remains true to the blackened death metal style that they have established on previous releases. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are inspired by literature and touch on historical, occult and political themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Krisiun and if you are a fan of t his band, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sworn Enemies" "Necronomical" "War Blood Hammer" and "Death of The Sun". 8 out of 10.
