Porta Daemonium are a band from Chile that plays an occult form of blackened death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Serpent of Chaos" which was released by Iron, blood & Death Corporation.
Distorted effects and demonic voices start off the album giving the music a very ritualistic feeling and after the intro the music goes into a very brutal direction along with a great amount of blast beats as well as adding in death metal growls along with a few black metal screams being utilized at times.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads also remain true to a death metal style and you can also hear a great amount of tremolo picking in the fast riffing and the whole album also remains very heavy and brutal from beginning to ending of the recording.
Porta Daemonium plays a style of death metal that is very brutal while also mixing in influences and the occult atmosphere of black metal to create a style of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Left Hand Path and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Porta Daemonium are a very great sounding occult blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Via Sinistra" "The Apep's Chaotic Dreams" and "Under the Sigils of The Fallen Angels". 8 out of 10.
