Stenho are a band from Greece that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a mixture of black, death metal, crust and grindcore and this is a review of their 2021 album "War Dance" which will be released in October as a joint effort between 7 Degrees Records and Chaos & Hell Productions.
The sounds of war start off the album before going into more of a heavier and melodic direction while blast beats and tremolo picking. are also added into some of the faster sections of the songs. Angry sounding black metal screams are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording and the music also mixes in the brutality of grindcore.
A great portion of the tracks are also very short in length while the music also brings in a great amount of crust elements. Influences of death metal are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them, war samples also make a return on some of the later tracks as well a small amount of synths also being utilized towards the end
On this recording Stencho takes black, death metal, crust and grindcore to create a very fast and brutal musical style. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album covering war themes.
In my opinion this is another great recording recording from Stenho and if you are a fan of black, death metal, crust and grindcore, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bestial Battalion" "Snake Eater" "Dishonored Bodybag" and 'biute the Bullet". 8 OUT OF 10.
