Into Coffin are a band from Germany that plays a blackened form of doom/death metal and this is a review of their 2016 cassette "Into A Pyramid Of Doom" which was released by Caligari Records.
Dark sound effects start off the album along with some atmospheric synths a few seconds later and after the intro the music goes into a heavier doom metal direction along with some morbid sounding melodies and death metal growls a few seconds later and when the music speeds up blast beats can be heard.
A lot of the music is rooted in the early 90's and the songs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the songs also add in a good amount of blackened death metal elements which can be heard in the tremolo picking and there is also a small amount of black metal screams and as the album progresses a small amount of drones can be heard briefly before returning back to a heavier direction and the last track also beings in a small amount of clean playing.
Into Coffin plays a style of doom/death metal t hat has its roots in the 90's while they change things around a bit by adding in a touch of black metal, the production sounds very dark and old school while the lyrics cover Occultism, Space and History themes.
In my opinion Into Coffin are a very great sounding blackened doom/death metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this cassette. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Stargate Path" and "Black Ascension". 8 out of 10.
