Skeleton Wolf are a band from the United States that plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of their self released and self titled 2016 album which will b e released in June.
Melodic guitar leads start off the album along with some heavy riffs a few seconds later which also evolves into more of an old school thrash metal direction along with some high pitched black metal screams and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and the riffs also get melodic at times.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some songs also bring in a small amount of clean playing and while there is also a great amount of old school influences in the bands musical style the way they approach the songs bring in even more of a modern feeling and some of t he later tracks also bring in a small amount of tremolo picking along with a small amount of atmospheric elements and a couple of the tracks are long and epic in length and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Skeleton Wolf plays a musical style that takes black metal and thrash and mixes them together to create a very heavy sounding album, the production has a very professional sound for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Skeleton Wolf are a very great sounding blackened thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bow Down To Death" "Whatever Demons (We All Have Them)" and "She's Insane". 8 out of 10.
