Affliktor are a solo project from Big Horn, Wyoming that plays a mixture of black, death, thrash and speed metal and this is a review of his self titled 2017 album which will be released in October by Transcending Obscurity Records.
A very heavy, melodic and old school sound starts off the album along with some grim black metal screams a few seconds later while the riffs also bring in a great amount of thrash elements and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and the solos and leads also mix in an 80's style.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the music also ads in influences from death and speed metal and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the music always sticks to a very heavy musical style and the last track is an instrumental.
Affliktor plays a musical style that mixes old school thrash, death and speed metal with a more modern black metal vocal approach to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism, Philosophy and Left Hand Path themes.
In my opinion Affliktor are a very great sounding mixture of black, death, thrash and speed metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Storms Of Demogorgon" "Chaos Magick Totality" and "Nothing Shall Arise". 8 out of 10.
