Totengott are a band from Spain that plays a mixture of black, doom and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Doppleganger" which was released by Xtreem Music.
Atmospheric synths and ritualistic soundscapes start off the album along with some touches of classical and opera music before adding in drum beats and powerful sounding bass guitars which also gives the songs more of a doom metal feeling and all 3 of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard while the vocals are done in more of an aggressive 80's style of extreme metal and the music also mixes in elements of thrash and first wave black metal along with some touches of death metal and you can also hear a decent amount of melody in the guitar riffing and the solos and leads also remain true to an old school metal style and as the album progresses clean playing can also be heard briefly and synths are also used on the later tracks and melodc vocals ae also used briefly.
Tottengott plays a musical style that mixes black, doom and thrash metal together to create a sound of their own while the influence of Celtic Frost really shows throughout the recording, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, Mental Illness and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Tottengott are a very great sounding mixture of black, doom and thrash metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this track. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Satn Beside You". 8 out of 10.
