Tombstalker are a band from Lexington, Kentucky that plays a mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Chaotic Devotion" which will be released in September by Boris Records.
A very heavy yet melodic sound starts off the ep along with all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful as well as introducing black metal screams onto the recording while the riffing is very heavily influenced by death metal and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the music is very heavily by the 90's styles of black and death metal but also done in a more modern fashion and both of the tracks stick to a very heavy musical direction along with some growls also being utilized at times as well as adding in a small amount of thrash influences.
Tombstalker plays a musical style that mixes black and death metal together to create a sound of their own, the production sound s very professional while the lyrics cover war, chaos, violence and inner struggle themes.
In my opinion Tombstalker are a very great sounding mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should c heck out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Treads of War". 8 out of 10.
