1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording and release of the new album?
DF - Well... the reviews have been so good that we've been discussing that we might not wait 2 or 3 years to release a new album.
2.Recently you have released a new album, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
DF - I believe that this new album is more different when compared to the two frist. They were also different from each other, but more in the same vein. This time we went a different way and it has been aproved.
3. A lot of your lyrics cover horror themes, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in this topic?
DF - The lyrics are writen by Jorge and he takes inspiration in the lyrics writen back in the good old days when Metal was Metal and there was no intention to write "intelectual" or social themes.
4.What are some of the other lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored so far with the music?
DF - We have no interest in singing about anything else than Metal. Everyone in the band understands of what we are all about... perpetuate the late 80's Death Thrash movement.
5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Death Feast'?
DF - Just as the names says: it is a feast of Death... the ultimate Metal theme! When you listen to our music, you should feel like you're feasting on Metal.
6.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?
DF - Well, it's a still picture of the goddess Ingrid Pitt taken from the movie "The House That Dripped Blood" and it was the inspiration for the lyric of the title song. I think that it's the perfect cover for this album since it represents both the music and the lyrics of the whole album.
7.According to the Metal Archives page the band does not do any live shows, can you tell us a little bit more about this decision?
DF - We are not a real band... it's more a project that some friends decided to do. There are no rehearsals, each one does his thing at home, except the vocals who are recorded here at my home and me and Jorge decide on what to do.
8.A good portion of the band members are also veterans playing in bands for the past decades, what are your thoughts on the modern era of extreme metal?
DF - I can only express my opinion and that is... I lost interest in the music scene years ago due to all the disapointments with people/assholes. I don't care about "extreme" Metal, I just like real Metal.
9.The new album was released on 'Haloran Records', can you tell us a little bit more about this label?
DF - It's a new label, actually this was their second release. They like what I like so it was easy to work with them. Actually... the reason that there is a new DEATH FEAST album is their interest in the band. We were without a label so I decided to stop the recordings... when Haloran asked if I had plans for the band I said I had a full album composed. So, a deal was struck and we finished the album.
10.On aw3rldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black, death and thrash metal??
DF - Like I said... the reactions have been so good that it gave us an extra boost to think on a new album for the next year, buut it all depends on the sales... as we both know... good reviews don't mean good sales. But so far... so good...
11.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that some of the band members are a part of?
DF - Some are still around... others are dead and gone. There are too many bands these days, so I decided to focus my energy in a few bands and lay to rest most of my projects.
12.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
DF - We've been discussing the next album and it may come out a bit more Death Metal and less Thrash, but... with music one can never know what the future may bring. We have an idea... let's see if we can conceive it.
13.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on oyur music and also what ar eyou listening to nowadays?
DF - The concept behind this band is to perpetuate the overall feeling of the late 80's Death Thrash Metal sound. There is no one band or even a group of bands that dictate what we create, it's the whole concept behind it back in that era. Nowadays I still listen to what I was listening back in the 80's and 90's. I get some new items now and then, but basically, I'm an 80's freak.
14.Does Occultism play any role in your music?
DF - Yes. Metal is Occultism so... it's an influence in what we do.
