Tenebrific are a band from Australia that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2024 ep "Labyrinth Of Anguish" which will b released in April.
Dark soundscapes start off the ep while tortured voices can also be heard in the background briefly before going into a heavier direction. All of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with the vocals bringing in a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style along with the tracks also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and acoustic guitars can also be heard briefly and tremolo picking can also be heard in some of the faster riffing.
Tenebrific plays a style of blackened death metal that is very heavy, dark, aggressive and brutal sounding. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover existential despair themes.
In my opinion Tenebrific are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Tormenting Shadows". 8 out of 10.
