Visions Of The Night are a band from Ontario, Canada that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Guerrillas Within Their Midst" which was released by Butchered Records.
The album starts out with war samples before adding in exotic and melodic guitar licks along with bass guitars and drums which also leads up to clean singing female vocals before going into a fast and brutal blackened death metal direction along with a mixture of growls and screams and they also bring in a mixture of slow and fast parts.
As the album progresses the music gets more militant and brutal in sound as well as bringing in blast beats and technical elements and they also bring melodic riffing and chanting into the music in certain sections of the recording as well as bringing in a small amount of atmospheric synths at times while the music for the most part focuses more on heaviness and brutality and as the album progresses guitar solos and leads are brought in and on the last track there is a brief use of spoken word samples being utilized.
Wit h this album Visions Of The Night take the brutal death metal sound and mix it with black metal as well as bringing in melody, atmospheric and militant elements to create a sound of their own.
Song lyrics cover war and occultism themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Visions Of the Night are a very great sounding heavy and brutal blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "War Is Our Religion" "We Will Conquer" "Assaulting Fortress Europe" and "Invoking The Martial Gods". 8 out of 10.
