Nangilima are a band from Sweden that plays a very atmospheric and blackened form of doom/death metal and this is a review of their 2013 single "Thanathos" which was released by Senseless Life Records.
The song starts out with melodic guitar leads before going into a more funeral doom metal direction as well as sticking to a slow direction and they also add in clean parts which have a post metal feeling to them which also leads up to some deep death metal vocals and after awhile the music starts to get more atmospheric in sound as well as adding in a small amount of synths, halfway through the song acoustic guitars and spoken word parts become a part of the music while also retaining a heavy and dark atmosphere which also leads to a more fast black metal direction along with a small amount of blast beats and back to a doom metal direction.
Nangilima show a good amount of diversity with their song with the music being mostly based in funeral doom metal while also having a decent amount of death and black metal elements along with a good amount of melody, the production sounds very dark and the lyrics cover mythology themes.
In my opinion Nangilima are a very great sounding atmospheric, blackened funeral doom/death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this single. 8 out of 10.
