Sektor are a band from Germany that plays a blackened form of death/thrash metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Alpha" which was released by Rebirth The Metal productions.
Dark sounds start off the album before the music goes into a more heavy blackened death metal direction along with blast beats, a mixture of growls and screams and some technical elements and when solos and leads are added into the music the album has a more melodic feeling and the band also has a very modern sound to them.
On the other tracks the band adds more melodies into the guitar riffing while also keeping a very heavy sound around and at times they bring in more brutal sounds into their blackened death metal approach as well as having some traces of groove and thrash metal which is also mixed in with the vocals at times but in a way more aggressive manner.
As the album progresses the black metal influence starts to have a more dominant manner in the music while death and thrash are still a huge part of the music and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and almost all of the songs have a different sound to t hem while you can still tell it is the same band playing them all.
Sektor create a truly diverse and heavy sound with their music while the main factor in their sound is blackened death metal they also bring in modern thrash and groove metal elements along with a good amount of melody to create a sound of their own, the production is very professional sounding and the lyrics cover dark, hateful and violent themes.
In my opinion Sektor are a very great sounding blackened death/thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Question" "Takeover" "Social Predator" and "Ritual". 8 out of 10.
