Gravedancer are a duo from Brazil that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a mixture of black, thrash and speed metal and this is a review of their 2021 ep "Unholy Bond" which will be released in September by Hellprod Records.
an 80's influenced speed metal style starts off the ep along with some high pitched black metal screams a few seconds later. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them and the music also adds in some thrash and first wave elements.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain true to an old school style while also adding in some touches of NWOBHM. When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can also be heard along with some of the faster riffing also adding in some tremolo picking and the demo closes with a cover of Midnight's "Black Rock'N'Roll".
On this recording Gravedancer goes back t o t he 80's era of black, thrash and speed metal and mixes it in with more of a modern heaviness. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover witchcraft, satanism, horror and heavy metal themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Gravedancer and if you are a fan of b lack, thrash and speed metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In Crusade With Satan" and "Feasting With The Dead". 8 out of 10.
