Lithik are a solo project from Australia that plays a blackened form of doom metal and this is a review of his self released 2021 album "Weather The Storm" which will be released in November.
A very slow, dark yet heavy doom metal sound starts off the album while clean playing can also be heard at times. Vocals are mostly blackened metal screams that are influenced by both the first and second wave era's of the genre and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic yet old school style.
One of the songs is also an acoustic instrumental which also introduces synths onto the recording before returning back to a heavier direction. The riffs also add in a decent amount of melody along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them as well as one track also adding in a brief use of female vocals and when the music finally speeds up a small amount of blast beats can also be heard, a couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
Lithik plays a musical style that takes the atmospheric sides of black and doom metal and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Lithik are a very great sounding blackened doom metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "New Moon" and "No End For An End To meet". 8 out of 10.
