Evil Damn are a band from Peru that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2025 ep "Eons Of Horror" which will be released on January 30th by Hells Headbangers Records.
A very dark, heavy and brutal sound starts off the ep while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of blast beats. Vocals are mostly death metal growls which also add in small amount of black metal screams while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing and the music is very heavily rooted in the mid 80's to early 90's era.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also stick to more of an old school metal direction while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Most of the recording also shows influences of both the classic South and North American styles of the genre and all of the tracks also stick to a heavier direction.
Evil Damn plays a musical style that goes back to the 80's and early 90's era of black and death metal and mixes them together to create a very heavy and brutal recording. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Cosmic Horror, Death, Evil and Satanism themes.
In my opinion Evil Damn are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genres, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Eons of Horror" and "Evil Dwells out There". 8 out of 10.
