Belgium's Marche Funebre have returned with a new recording which shows the music going for a blackened form of doom/death metal and this is a review of their 2024 album "After The Storm" which was released by Ardua Music.
Melodic guitar solos and leads start off the album along with some atmospheric sounding synths a few seconds later. Elements of doom metal are also added into the slower sections of the recording while the vocals bring in mostly death metal growls mixes in with some black metal screams.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while all of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. Clear vocals are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording along with some of the songs also adding in a decent amount of clean playing as well as all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them and the whole album also sticks to a slower direction.
On this recording Marche Funebrae goes for a very slow, atmospheric and melodic style of doom/death metal. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover melancholic themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Marche Funebre and if you are a fan of atmospheric and blackened doom/death metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In A Haze" and "After The Storm". 8 out of 10.
