Australia's Tyrannic have returned with a new recording which shows the music going for a blackened form of doom metal and this is a review of their 2024 album "Tyrannic Desolation" which was released by iron Bonehead Productions.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the music also adds in a lot of 80's and early 90's influences and toy can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording.
Elements of doom metal are also added into the slower sections of the songs while clear vocals can also be heard on a few tracks. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they bring in more of a dark yet melodic style along with some of the tracks also being very long and epic in length and blast beats are also added when they music speeds up.
Tremolo picking can also be heard in some of the faster riffing along with some of the angry shouts also giving the songs more of a first wave black metal vibe when they are introduced into the music as well as some of the tracks also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, synths and clean playing can also be heard briefly. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death and desolation themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Tyrannic and if you are a fan of blackened doom metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Prophetic Eyes Of Glass" "Impaled Before Your Mirror Of Fate" and "Morbid Sanctum". 8 out of 10.
