Imperanence are a band from Poland that plays a technical and progressive mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Anicca" which was released as a joint effort between Satanath and Sanatorio Records.
A synth orientated intro starts off the album before going into a more heavy and brutal direction while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. At times the music also gets very technical sounding while the vocals are mostly death metal growls mixed in with a few screams. and blast beats are also added into the faster sections of the songs.
Elements of black metal are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Blast beats are also added into the faster sections of the songs along with the album also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the music also having its progressive moments, clean playing can also be heard briefly and tremolo picking can also be heard ins some of the faster riffing.
Imperanence plays a musical style that takes a very technical and progressive form of death metal and mixes it with black metal to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the fragility and transience of human life.
In my opinion Imperanence are a very great sounding technical and progressive mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sorrodise" "Spiritual War" and "Crumbling". 8 out of 10.
