This is a review of a split album between Poland's Warfist and Excidium called "Laws Of Perversion & FIlth" which will be released in 2018 by Godz Of War Productions and we will start off the review with Warfist a band that has been featured before in this zine and plays a blackened form of thrash metal.
Their side of the split starts out with thrash style riffing along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them while the faster sections of the songs bring in a decent amount of blast beats while the vocals mix thrash and first wave style black metal vocals together.
A lot of the music has its roots in the 80's while also capturing a very modern atmosphere while the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody along with some growls also being utilized at times as well as the guitar leads also remaining very true to an old school style and the music always remains heavy and they close their side of the split with a cover of Dodheimsgard's Angel Death".
Warfist creates another recording that remains true to the blackened thrash metal style of previous releases, the production sounds very heavy while the lyrics cover blasphemy, alcohol and sex themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Warfist and if you are a fan of blackened thrash metal, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Sadistic Whorefuck".
Next up is Excidium a band that plays a mixture of black and thrash metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very heavy 80's influenced thrash metal style while the faster sections of the songs bring in a decent amount of blast beats along with the riffs also using a great amount of melody as well as the vocals being mostly first wave style black metal screams.
All of the musical instruments on their side of the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the music is very heavily rooted in the 80's but also capturing a modern atmosphere and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as always remaining heavy and they close their side of the split with a cover of Impaled Nazarene's "Karmageddon Warriors".
Excidium plays a style of blackened thrash metal that is very heavily rooted in the 80's, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover violence, destruction and blasphemous themes.
In my opinion Excidium are a very great sounding mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Veil Of Stagnation".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and if you are a fan of blackened thrash metal, you should check out this album. 8 out of 10.
