Neolith are a band from Poland that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "I Am The Way" which was released by Mythrone Promotion.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album while the vocals bring in a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark and melodic style along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a decent amount of brutal sounding blast beats. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
The songs also add in a good mixture of both modern and old school influences as well as the vocals also having their guttural moments as the album progresses along with some of the tracks also being long and epic in length, one track also adds in a brief use of spoken word parts which are done mostly in the background. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness and occultism themes.
In my opinion Neolith are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Abu Hymn" "Ask And Thou Shalt Receive" and "Let the Heavens Rejoice". 8 out of 10.
