The Way Of Purity returns with a new recording which shows them moving even more far away from their black, doom and death metal roots and going for more of a goth and industrial metal style and this is a review of their 2019 album "Schwarz Order Rot" which was released by WormHoleDeath Records.
Electo-industrial sounds start off the album along with some heavy and melodic riffing a few seconds later. All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style and spoken word parts are also used at times.
A good mixture of both clean male and female goth vocals are also added into some parts of the songs. Elements of metalcore can be heard in the mid tempo sections of the tracks while the more aggressive vocals show an influence of black and death metal as well as the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody.
Touches of doom metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the songs as well as some tracks also adding in a small amount of whispered vocals and synths are also used quite a bit throughout the recording and as the album progresses some of the songs also add in programmed beats. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover animal liberation themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from The Way Of Purity and if you are fan of black, death, goth, industrial and metalcore, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Plague" "Wishing Death Upon You All" "The Lyncher" and "Spectral". 8 out fo 10.
