Frusen Sorg are a band from Sweden that plays a mixture of black metal, crust punk and d beat and this is a review of their 2025 ep "Jag Springer Med Avbrutna" which will be released in July as a joint effort between Fiadh Productions and Void Sound.
A very aggressive crust punk influenced sound starts off the ep along with some angry shouting vocals a few seconds later mixed in with some screams. D beats are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody and all of the tracks are also very short in length with an average of 1 to 2 minutes.
Elements of black metal are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them along with the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style and all of the music sticks to a heavier direction.
Frusen Sorg plays a musical style that takes black metal, crust punk and d beat and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Swedish and cover real-life trauma.
In my opinion Frusen Sorg are a very great sounding mixture of black metal, crust punk and d beat and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Att Slippa Bli Alskad" and "Min Van Paniken". 8 iut of 10.
