Necrocurse/Grip Of The Dead/Pulverised Records/2013 CD Review

Necrocurse  are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  plays  a  mixture  of  blackened  thrash  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2013  album  "Grip  Of  The  Dead"  which  was  released  by  Pulverised  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  great  amount  of  brutal  sounding  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing h as  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  black,  thrash  and  death  metal  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own  with  a  good  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  at  times,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  chaotic  sounding  black/death  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  are  mostly  blackened  death  metal s creams  and  growls  with  some  chants  and  spoken  word  elements  being  utilized  at  times  as  well  as  a  brief  power/thrash  scream  being  utilized  on  the  last  song,  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  occult  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  heavy,  old   school,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Necrocurse  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  primitive  hybrid  of  blackened  thrash  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Necrocurse"  "The  Devil  Cobra"  "Death  Metal  Rebels"  and  "Coffin  Breakers".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
