Mourner/Darkness Regions/2011 EP Review

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Mourner  which  continues  there  blackened  mixture  of  hardcore  and  crust  with  the  ep  being  self  released  in 2011  and  called  "Darkness  Regions".

  The  ep  starts  out  with  some  clean  guitars  and  distorted  amp  noise  and  after  a  minute  the  music  goes  into  a  more  fast  crust  and  hardcore  direction  while  also  mixing  in  some  slower  heavy  parts  and  bass  guitars  and  this  ep  does  not  utilize  as  much  black  metal  influence  like  the  previous  ep  had  and  on  the  last  song  you  can  hear  a  brief  use  of  brutal  sounding  blast  beats  being  utilized.

  Song  lyrics  cover  dark  themes,  while  the  production  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  dark  sound  for  being  a  self  released  recording  where  you  can  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  ep.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Mourner  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  blackened  crust/hardcore,  you  should  check   out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Redge  A".  RECOMMENDED.
