Dehumanized Deity are a solo project from Taber, Alberta, Canada that has been featured before in this zine and plays an old school form of blackened death metal and this is a review of his self released 2019 album "The World Will Burn Before Us".
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album while the vocals bring in a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams. The riffs also add in a decent amount of melody along with the music also adding in elements of thrash metal at times and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
A lot of the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's era along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Some of the faster riffing also adds in a small amount of tremolo picking as well as the riffs also getting very melodic sounding at times, one of the tracks is very long and epic in length and also introduces clean playing onto the recording and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they also bring in more of an old school style.
On this recording Dehumanized Deity remains true to his old school style of blackened death metal from previous releases. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover darkness, death and occultism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Dehumanized Deity and if you are a fan of old school blackened death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Towards Death or Oblivion" "The Devil In The Details" "Demonology" and "If The World Burns Tonight". 8 out of 10.
