SlaughterCoffin are a duo from Sweden that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "Unholy Soldiers Of Satan" which was released by Corrupted Flesh Records.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of blast beats. Death metal growls are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording along with some black metal screams also being utilized at times and the music also adds in a great amount of 90's Swedish influences.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain very true to an old school underground metal style. Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as one of the tracks also bringing in a small amount of clean playing.
Some of the melodies also add in a touch of the more modern occult black metal style and tremolo picking is also added into some of the faster riffing along with one track also adding in a brief use of spoken word samples, all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover Satanism, Blasphemy and Death themes.
In my opinion SlaughterCoffin are a very great sounding blackened death metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Pope Penetrator" "The End Of Seraphim" and "All Life Ends At Midnight". 8 out of 10.
