Nexhymn/BlackHorizon/2012 EP Review

Nexhymn are a band from Denver, Colorado that plays a blackened form of death metal with some grindcore influences and this is a review of their self released 2012 ep "Black Horizon".

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with brutal death metal riffing that dominates throughout the recording.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast death metal riffs that are very heavy and brutal sounding with some influences from death metal and grindcore with some technical riffing being thrown in at times while the lead guitars which are only utilized briefly are very chaotic sounding death metal guitar solos and leads.

Vocals are all deep death metal growls, while the lyrics cover dark and hateful themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a s elf released recording and you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.

In my opinion Nexhymn are a very great sounding blackened death metal band with a grindcore edge and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Undetermined Supplication" and "Exquisite Plague". RECOMMENDED BUY.
